Queso
This is our cat Queso. My wife got him from the veterinary hospital she works at. It's primarily a canine clinic, so Queso was a little bit of an oddity there.
He was brought by a good samaritan who found him half-starving and covered in fly eggs and feces in a dumpster. He was in a chain restaurant bag with food remenants. Apparantly the scumbag who threw him in the trash made sure he (or she) ate before throwing away their kitten.
He was only about 4 weeks old and not weened yet. He was tiny! My wife and the gals from her work nursed him back to health for about a week at the clinic before we were able to take him home. We still had to give him antibiotics and eye medications for the next 3 weeks. He was so skinny when I first saw him that I didn't think he'd last more than a few days. It really broke your heart. The ladies at my wife's clinic named him Queso, since he was found in a Chipotle bag.
He's fully grown now and still not that big. He makes up for it by being feisty. Nothing scares this guy! I figure it's because of his hardscrabble upbringing. He appears to be a purebred persian of some kind.
All in all, it turned out to be a blessing and I'm glad the little guy is in our lives.
Sorry, I had to post again. I like this photo better :)
